ActNow Foundation is a theater & film organization that focuses on the minority experience in the United States and abroad. By showcasing diverse artists, ActNow takes audiences on a journey that enriches their cultural background with stories about race, love, family, self-empowerment, cultural and class differences that shows how everyone shares the same human struggle for survival.

Act Now: New Voices In Black Cinema, in partnership with BAMcinématek (www.BAM.org) and the Council Member Letita James, is seeking narrative feature films and documentaries, directed by or staring people of African descent and no less than 75 minutes in length. We have accommodations for sneak previewing your feature film three (3) times in one night.

Whether the films are contemporary or period pieces, drama or comedy, science fiction or animated, the purpose of this series is to give filmmakers of Afrian descent the opportunity to showcase their films on a grand stage where they can develop opportunities for limited distribution and create buzz for future industry contacts.

ANF Short Film Collective is seeking submissions of short films, works-in-progress from filmmakers for its upcoming film showcases. The screenings are held quarterly at our new venue, Littlefield 622 Degraw Street, Brooklyn, New York 11217. Featuring the works of rising filmmakers and actors. The Collective's mission is to give these artists a public venue for their work and an opportunity to receive feedback and support for their projects.

The Collective's screenings draw film aficionados as well as corporate and creative professionals.

Theatre Submissions:

ANF Seeking Plays.

ActNow is currently seeking plays for the upcoming 2010 – 2011 season. We are looking for plays that cover a full range of experiences affecting Blacks in America and beyond. Scripts should be provocative, enlightening, and relevant, with subjects ranging from relationships, love, sex, history, race, and our political climate. ActNow is dedicated to showcasing the African Diaspora and all submitted scripts should reflect our mission.

Full-length plays should be no longer than one hundred minutes and no more than eight characters. One-act plays should not exceed thirty-five minutes.
